Q: What changes have been made to the Sunshine Plaza car park?

A: We encourage customers to take advantage of free* parking for the first 3 hours.

A: The new managed parking system will make parking quicker and easier. The 3 hours free* parking limit will begin at the time vehicles enter the car park.

Q: Will there be staff to help?

A: Customers when requiring assistance can contact car park staff by pressing the call button at any exit or pay station machine.

Q: Will the managed parking system have an impact on parking in the streets surrounding the shopping centre?

A: We anticipate the new controlled parking system will make it easier for people to park within the Sunshine Plaza car park. Street parking is managed by the Sunshine Coast Council who currently manage any resident or local business concerns regarding vehicles parked inappropriately in their areas.

Q: What consultation has taken place?

A: Sunshine Plaza has been reviewing customer recommendations and feedback for some time now, especially concerns about the availability of car spaces during busy shopping periods. We value the feedback and recommendations of our customers, which is why we are introducing managed parking to ensure that our car parks are available to genuine Sunshine Plaza customers.

Q: Has Council approved the proposed controlled parking system?

A: Council is not required to approve the process as it is on private land and falls under the self-assessable criteria under the Sunshine Coast Council planning regime.

Q: Who should I contact if I receive a parking fee and wish to dispute it?

A: If you wish to dispute a parking fee, please initially contact Point Parking via sunshineplaza@pointparking.com.au.
