Indulge In These Delicious Meals
You might love your usual hamburger and chips, or your vanilla soft serve, but these dishes end up becoming, well, vanilla after a while. Every now and then we all get the urge to really mix things up, whether that’s from your usual lunch order, or the really naughty cheat meal you indulge in each week. We’ve made it easy for you to give your usual order a shake up with this list of unique dishes available at Sunshine Plaza.
Warning: All these dishes are delicious, so maybe don’t read this on an empty stomach and come into Sunshine Plaza wanting one of each. Or... do? It’s your life and we can’t tell you how to live it!
The Cookie Monster | Chocolateria San Churro
Cookies are great. Ice cream is excellent. Sliders are delicious. When you combine the three together what do you get? A ridiculously tasty dessert called The Cookie Monster from Chocolateria San Churro, that’s what. This bad boy backs a velvety biscuit punch. We’re talking about a brioche slider with cookie butter gelato, strawberries and a Lotus cookie served with churro fries and cookie butter dip. Stop it Chocolateria San Churro, we’re drooling!
Honeydew Melon Bubble Tea | R Crane Sushi and Bubble Tea
Bubble Tea itself is a wonderfully distinct invention. But since this traditional Japanese drink has grown in popularity it isn’t exactly unique anymore. But do you know what is unique? Honeydew melon flavoured bubble tea. This unique drink offers sweet yet fruity flavours with a milky finish. Wash some of R Crane Sushi’s delicious hand rolls down with it and you’ve got a tasty snack to get you through an afternoon of shopping at Sunshine Plaza.
Japanese Cloud Roll | Motto Motto
The creators of Motto Motto started the restaurant chain with what they call a head full of crazy-innovative ideas, so it’s no surprise that everything on the menu is that little bit unique. Our pick for the most out-of-the-box dish? The Japanese Cloud Roll is pretty dang unique, thanks to the light-as-air Hokkaido-style milk bun that’s supposed to be even better than a brioche bun (big call but we like the confidence). Other interesting menu items include the Green Tea Soft Serve and the pork belly and corn filled Korokke (croquette).
Concrete | Betty’s Burgers and Concrete Co.
You might know Betty’s burgers for their tasty burgers and delectable thickshakes. But their unique menu item comes in the form of a rich and creamy dessert called Concrete. The rich and creamy frozen custard ice cream is served with the likes of Peanut Butter Brittle, Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake, and Almond Toffee Marshmallow. If that doesn’t have you wanting to ditch the vanilla soft serve we don’t know what will!
Golden Pan Fried Pork Buns | Roti and Buns
There’s a good chance you’ve tried a dumpling once or twice before (or a million times if you’re like us). But what about a basket of golden pan fried dumplings for something a bit different. Roti and Buns is renowned for their soft fluffy buns filled with juicy pork and spring onions. And to finish off with something a little bit different, try their Roti with Nutella and Banana covered in condensed milk drizzle. What a unique combo!
Pineapple Fried Rice | Thai Thyme
Who doesn’t love fried rice? It’s a delicious but simple dish that you wouldn’t usually expect to find on a Unique Dish list. Well, the reason Thai Thyme’s Pineapple Fried rice lands on our Most Unique Dishes list is actually because it’s served in a pineapple. Yep, that’s right – the clever folk at Thai Thyme on the Riverwalk have really shaken things up with this inventive and super fun dish. The pineapple is cut in half, hollowed out and stuffed with delicious fried rice. Now that’s an interesting take on modern crockery!
