Q: Who owns Sunshine Plaza, where is it located?

A: Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre is owned by Australian Prime Property Fund Retail (APPF Retail) and The GPT Group. Lendlease manages the operations and development of the Centre on behalf of the owners.
Sunshine Plaza is located in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, an hour North of Brisbane and 30 mins South of Noosa. The centre is located at 154-164 Horton Parade, Maroochydore.

A: The Sunshine Plaza redevelopment is a $400 million project.

Q: What will the redevelopment deliver to Sunshine Plaza?

A: The redevelopment will deliver a leading fashion, leisure and tourist destination that provides guests with an exceptional shopping experience. The enhanced retail mix will include the region’s first David Jones department store, a new BIGW, a fully refurbished Myer, provision for large format fashion operators and over 100 new specialty stores, bringing highly sought-after fashion brands to the Sunshine Coast.

The transformed Centre will feature a new Amaroo Street mall entrance and new outdoor waterfront dining along Cornmeal Creek, further enhancing the ‘indoor / outdoor’ experience at Sunshine Plaza.

The redevelopment will also include car parking improvements to ensure convenient access, with two new multi-level car parks and over 1400 additional new car spaces, taking the total number of spaces to nearly 5,000.

Q: When do you anticipate it to be finished?

A: The redevelopment will open in stages:
-The First Retail Stage, which includes a refurbished Myer, approximately 40 specialty stores, a new Amaroo Street entrance and a range of existing centre upgrades will be open in time for Christmas this year.
-The Final Retail Stage featuring the region’s first David Jones, Big W, approximately 60 specialty stores and new alfresco dining along Cornmeal Promenade, will be delivered before Easter 2019. Subject to DA approval, it is anticipated the High Ropes course will also be delivered before Easter 2019.

Q: Where is the centre being expanded?

A: The redevelopment will extend the centre along Cornmeal Creek and continue the unique indoor/outdoor shopping experience Sunshine Plaza is renowned for. Incorporated into this expansion are new pedestrian promenades.
